The third and final novel in Lauren DeStefano’s breathtaking dystopian romance series, The Chemical Garden Trilogy. Time is running out for Rhine. With less.

They do find the brother, and he’s working for Vaughn and really doesn’t do much of anything except serve as a reason for Rhine to be in Vaughn’s clutches again. I was completely enthralled with the first book in this series.
I suppose I should be relieved that half of the most ridiculous parts of the premise has been waved away. But it seems to me that whatever lacked in Fever, I say whatever because I can’t quite put my finger to what exactly was lacking Lauren DeStefano absolutely made up for it with Sever.
Like, Jesus Christ on a fucking cracker, it takes more more than 4 hours for me to drive to the Grand Canyon and I live in goddamn Arizona. Right down to the little I originally thought it was a piece of candy, like a June Bean, but now that I look closer, it might be a ring. Why does she decide that she has to find him? My favorite character is Linden. If there was one thing this book did that was excellent it was the character growth. Support your answer with textual evidence.
What does Rhine discover about this place?
With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. I must say that the second and previous book, Seve, wasn’t as good as the first one. I’m a huge fan of Wither. The Return of the King. How does he assist Rhine? Plus, receive updates about exclusive giveaways and reading guides when you sign up for the Book Club Favorites Newsletter.
See great eBook deals. The main character was married off in the first book, given all of the expectations that go along with marriage in this world, i found it surprising and intriguing that she remained a virgin, despite her husband’s experiences with his other wives.
He was so kind to Rhine and even Cecily in the end. I sometimes felt like the story was dragging and I was afraid the author wouldn’t be able to wrap up the story correctly but I wasn’t disappointed with the end but I didn’t particularly love it either.
Why does Cecily believe that Vaughn plans to murder her? So many things that made me say oh my goodness, especially at the end. I was a bit sad that there was less gorgeous fashion after book 1, but that was to be expected since she only got that fashion in the mansion. Me, to everyone, so the book could end.
Based on a True Story. To what extent would you go to save a loved one? We never really understood the specifics of the how the cure actually cured them, but I didn’t really care that much about that.

Sever (The Chemical Garden, #3) by Lauren DeStefano
I really don’t even know where to begin with my review of this book because I’m just so danged confused. I’d recommend too that this is a series best read all in one go, one after another, to truly experience it’s exploding greatness.
Being the last book in the trilogy I had to think of how this book wrapped the series up and whether it met my expectations or not. Like Reached by Ally Condie, the ending was perfect.
Mercury By Lesley-Ann Jones. Without spoiling much of the story, it’s just unbelievable that she would have come out of these situations untouched. Cecily continues to be as wonderful as ever, dever Linden and Gabriel continue to both be terrible romantic options for Rhine. What happens to Linden? Gabriel and Rhine obviously have absolutely no chemistry, so Rhine was totally going to go back to Linden someday.
Carina’s Books: Review: Sever by Lauren DeStefano
I loved Cecily’s, Jenna’s, and Lauen character development and description and they also had to be filtered through Rhine’s POV, so I don’t think that is why I felt so detached from Gabriel. He’s simply a puppet for moving the plot forward by whatever means necessary. Uncle Reed and Linden are up front while Rhine and Cicely are in the cargo area in the back.
